Chunky Girls On Stage Again - #effyourbeautystandards #thisbody

This weekend, three of the ladies from Chunky Girl Comics again took the stage in drag.  This time we performed to celebrate the birthday of our good friend, Sarah.  Not that we apparently need a reason to wear our underwear in public, but this truly was a special occasion.  Happy birthday, Sarah!  Hope you enjoyed all the T&A!

I feel like events such as these are important to show that all bodies are beautiful.  Each of us are shaped differently and have different assets, but we are all beautiful.  I also truly believe that the more that people see regular bodies out there wearing sexy clothing, the more normalized it becomes.  Then we no longer have to hear, "girl, you're brave for wearing that in public!"  I'm not brave.  This is what I look like and I'm not ashamed of it.  I was wearing more clothing than someone on a beach in a bikini would be wearing and I imagine you wouldn't tell a random skinny girl that she was brave for wearing so little.

#ThisBody was made to be sexy and so was yours!  #Effyourbeautystandards and show me your sexy photos!

Out of the Darkness Walk

Yesterday was the six month "anniversary" of my boss committing suicide. I wrote about this heartbreak in December. You can read that post here: http://lolorashel.blogspot.com/2015/12/out-of-darkness.html

The funny thing about tragedy is that the world doesn't wait for you to get better. So you have to heal on the fly. I feel like I have learned a lot about myself during this process. Tomorrow is not guaranteed, so I am scheduling those adventures today. I am meeting new people and enjoying my life. My life is about half over. I don't want to feel like a single day has been wasted. It is sad to say that my boss dying really kind of kicked me into gear and made me start thinking about what I want out of life. And I want this. All of it. I want to be a great aunt and friend. A thoughtful lover. A hard-working employee. I want to pole dance and walk on the beach. I want to be out in nature and enjoy the sun on my face. I want to do yoga and go hiking. I want to travel. I want to eat good food. I may even want to climb Half Dome again (and I swore once was enough). I want to inspire people to love themselves and not wait to go on those adventures. For those of you who struggle with this, you will understand...life does not start five pounds from now.

Today I signed up to lead a team for the Out of the Darkness Walk in October. If you would like to donate or join my team, please visit my fundraising page: http://afsp.donordrive.com/participant/LoriMyers

I appreciate all of the stories that have been shared with my privately. If you would like to share anything publicly, please feel free to comment below!

Review of Mean Girl Productions' Pole Warmer

How many times have you run into a freezing studio (or room if you have a pole at home) and tried to jump on that ridiculously cold pile of steel that is your pole?

Recently, Mean Girl Productions sent me a pole warmer to try! I used it at Twirly Girls and did a quick video review.  Check it out below.

I have the Pole Warmer Pro Premium Package (this warmer is four feet long but it heats up an additional two feet of the pole, and they offer a six foot version). It also includes the remote. Especially in those places that are FUH-REEZING, this will help you get on the pole faster (and be safer)!

I imagine you could use this product in other places as well -- to heat up your yoga mat or even to lay across your feet when you're in bed. My feet are always freezing at night!

When you're ready to pick up yours, please visit their site (and check out their other products as well!): http://www.meangirl.org/#!pole-warmer-pro/c1236

Thank you to Mean Girl Productions for sharing this with me! Let me know if you have tried the pole warmer, and what else you might use it for in the comments below!
